What We Do

Ask Auntie helps lay the foundation for relationship building between Corporate Canada and Canada's Indigenous Peoples.

We offer guidance in developing practical solutions and advice on how to best engage and support Indigenous Peoples, while working towards reconciliation.

Our desire, dedication and talent lends itself to thinking outside of the box when it comes to working collaboratively. Using a practical approach, coupled with allies with various backgrounds, we take away the fear of saying or doing the wrong thing and manage risks associated with relationship building.

Get to Know Us

At Ask Auntie Consulting, we believe in creating authentic relationships by tuning into core values. Choosing courage over comfort, we work towards the belief that having a better understanding of our past, creates a better future for all. From tailgate safety meetings with tradespeople, to executives in the boardroom, or children at school, the take-away is the same - relationships matter. The 'how' and 'why' of relationship building varies but will inevitably include vulnerability; knowing mistakes are vital for growth, and perfection is the opposite of good. Auntie walks the talk and teaches with fun, ease, practicality and storytelling - she's been there, done that! Plus, if Auntie can't help you, she might be able to hook you up.

Our boutique consultancy is located in Treaty 7 Territory and the Metis Battle River Territory, however, we offer our services throughout all of Turtle Island. We operate virtually and in-person - whatever works best for Indigenous communities and our clients. We work towards the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action #92: "We call upon the corporate sector in Canada to adopt the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a reconciliation framework and to apply its principles, norms, and standards to corporate polity and core operations activities involving Indigenous peoples and their lands and resources...."

Keeoukaywin - the spirit in which Ask Auntie operates

Keeoukaywin is a Cree term meaning 'the visiting way' and is the overarching ethos in which we like to conduct business. It is modest, approachable and casual - just like visiting your favourite auntie at her kitchen table. It is an Indigenous learning method - with little need for agendas and elaborate visual presentations rife with googled information. Keeoukaywin encourages our clients to take a different path to relationship building. Gone are the colonial concepts of measuring success such as certifications and / or gold star approval. Rather, our goal is to guide our clients to purposeful and authentic relationships based on trust, transparency and understanding.
